Centralized data processing for marine tank gauging systems
The Honeywell Communication Interface Unit acts as the central processing point for a vessel’s tank gauging system.
It collects measurement signals from onboard instruments such as radar gauges, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors and electropneumatic level transmitters, then processes this data for use by operators and connected ship systems.
This makes the unit especially useful on tankers and FPSO vessels where multiple tanks and measurement devices need to be monitored from one control-room interface.
Built for large marine monitoring systems
The system can handle measurement data from up to 64 cargo tanks and accept up to 96 additional instrument inputs, giving it the capacity needed for larger vessel installations.
Depending on the configuration, the interface can process:
- Tank level and ullage

- Corrected volume
- Mass
- Ballast level
- Trim and heel
- Atmospheric pressure
- On/off signals
The unit can then provide this data to marine tank gauging software, loading computers and other vessel systems.
